Certificate of Special Recognition*

An award recognizing any administrative personnel, other than a CEO (principal, program director, dean) of programs for the deaf/hard of hearing, retired from an administrative position since the previous annual
meeting, or who will retire prior to the end of the current school year, and who have 10 years or more service in the profession of education of the deaf. School or program membership in CEASD at the time of retirement is required.

1) The National Office will send out the Call for Nominations in the Newsletter, or in a
separate mailing and with the convention registration materials annually along with the
notice that these nominations must be made to the Honors and Awards Committee.

2) Nominations must be made by the school or program superintendent, president,
director or chief executive officers and will be received by the Committee annually for
presentation at the regular meeting. Upon retirement the nominee must have worked in
the field of deaf education for a minimum of 10 years.

3) The person making the nomination must submit name, address, present position,
academic and professional background of the nominee and state in 200 words or less
the reason for the nomination.

4) The Honors and Awards Committee will submit all verified nominations to the
Executive Committee for final approval.
